Are these magic angle spinning experiments? I...JC,<br />Are these magic angle spinning experiments? If so, I have seen spurious spikes from decoupled arcing or unstable spinning. Perhaps the rotor is touching the rf coil. Try turning off the decoupled and the magic angle spinning. If you are measuring spectra of liquids in a high resolution probe, there may be interference from the 2H lock channel, the vt heater or noise from gradients. Try disconnecting everything from the probe except the single cable used for your simple single pulse experiment. If this solves the problem, start connecting everything one at a time until you find the problem. I try to change the RG parameter low down to 1, however the spikes or spurious signals papears again.
