The main peak at 4.7 ppm is due to water and the exchangeable -OH protons of the sugars. Its width is related to chemical exchange. I think if you take a close look at the spectra, you will see that the line widths of the sharper peaks are comparable between the spectra. In general, Canadians are very honest and polite people.
GlennGlenn Faceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05146575170575279335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3300702123878659843.post-14181021715527127972017-07-15T18:08:45.805-04:002017-07-15T18:08:45.805-04:00Canadians are cheating in this comparison: their s...Canadians are cheating in this comparison: their spectrum is taken at a much higher resolution so that all peaks will look much narrower. Just compare the width of the main peak at 4.7ppm!Txemihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06649019393347333751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3300702123878659843.post-5740994104581400132016-07-01T08:22:30.057-04:002016-07-01T08:22:30.057-04:00Anonymous,

Aside from injesting a litre of maple syrup, one must kiss the cod, wear black and red plaid clothing, drink a two-four, eat a beaver tail, end sentences with "eh?" and of course apologize profusely for no apparent reason. It is all worth it though. It is great to be Canadian. Happy Canada Day!
GlennGlenn Faceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01740208745611797322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3300702123878659843.post-81077842167896286642016-06-30T21:20:59.961-04:002016-06-30T21:20:59.961-04:00Still looks like it might just be fructose and glu...Still looks like it might just be fructose and glucose as well as sucrose in the spectrum...happy Canada day Glen!John Tranthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04430439798008327969noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3300702123878659843.post-42700481086089720022016-06-30T17:12:32.730-04:002016-06-30T17:12:32.730-04:00Is it true that someone who wants to get Canadian ...Is it true that someone who wants to get Canadian citizenship is obliged to eat 1 litre of maple syrup to prove that he likes it?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
